The design of this house, defined by clear and contemporary lines, corresponds to the standard model within a development of eight homes to be built in Silvares, Fafe.
These three-bedroom (T3) houses are spatially organized around the social area, oriented toward the rear of the plot, with the aim of creating an experience of comfort, privacy, and leisure that includes a swimming pool.
Views over the surrounding landscape, as well as solar orientation, served as guiding principles for the morphology and form of this home, which develops in a “T” configuration.
When Architecture Merges with the Land
This T3 house is a manifesto of landscape integration and minimalist sophistication. Set on a gentle slope, the residence does not rise above the terrain — rather, it emerges from it, as if sculpted by the very topography.
Platform Architecture and Light
The project unfolds through pure horizontal volumes organized on a textured concrete platform that functions as both pedestal and unifying element. The house is, at once, an architectural object and a natural extension of the ground — a smooth transition between the built and the natural.
Tactile and Sensory Materiality
The façades combine exposed concrete with vertical texture (evoking timber formwork boards) and panels of thermally modified wood slats or dark metal. This material duality creates a constant interplay between weight and lightness, opacity and transparency, permanence and movement. Large glazed openings, framed by minimalist black aluminum joinery, dissolve the boundaries between interior and exterior.
Garage as Sculpture
The garage is not merely functional — it is a sculptural piece. The covered tunnel, with a slatted ceiling and integrated linear lighting, transforms the act of parking into an architectural experience. Vertical light slits along the side wall create a dramatic play of light and shadow, especially at dusk.
Pool as a Liquid Mirror
The rectangular pool is the emotional heart of the project. With infinity edges and dark-toned finishes, it functions as a mirror that doubles the sky, the hills, and the architecture itself. The light wood deck establishes a gentle transition between water, lawn, and interior spaces.
Relationship with the Landscape
The house does not compete with the surrounding landscape — it celebrates it. The volumes are arranged in an “L” shape to embrace the terrain, creating semi-private courtyards that frame specific views. The green slope becomes a living backdrop, changing tone throughout the seasons and hours of the day.
Lighting as Language
Architectural lighting is treated as an essential element. Vertical light slits mark entrances and define volumes, while the warm glow emanating from the interior at twilight transforms the house into a discreet lantern within the landscape.
Contemporary Living in Harmony
Three bedrooms, generous and fluid spaces, and total integration with the outdoors — this home proposes a way of living in which comfort and design are not opposing forces, but complementary ones. Here, architecture is not a backdrop; it is an active participant in everyday life.
A Modern Refuge
More than a house, this is a contemporary sanctuary. A place where minimalism does not mean coldness, but clarity; where formal restraint amplifies sensory experience; where every window is a living frame of the landscape.
This is a home for those who understand that true luxury lies not in ostentation, but in the quality of silence, the texture of light on concrete, and the intimate feeling of belonging simultaneously to both the house and the landscape.
