Houten Huis

For a family home in Waalwijk, we set the goal together with the clients to literally leave a ‘small footprint’ on the earth. The home is constructed from solid wooden walls, floors and roof panels. CLT, or cross-laminated timber, is increasingly being used and not only has sustainable properties, but also a favourable effect on the indoor climate. And, for the enthusiast, it is simply very beautiful!

Thanks to smart interior solutions, we were able to design a relatively compact, but spacious home for this large family. The cemented exterior facade, together with the wooden frames, provides a soft and completely unique appearance.

The home is located at the head of a new body of water. The archetypal shape of a house immediately attracts attention, without being conspicuous.
