Capturing the beauty of the desert in a local office.
Tripling in size over the course of a year, Indeed’s Scottsdale officeopted to expand their sales team into a larger location with a pro-business culture, energetic environment, and scores of amenities within walking distance—tapping into a vibrant and spirited company culture.
Indeed’s goal was to capture the local flair of Arizona, while also providing an energetic and tailored work environment for its employees. The Galleria, formerly a shopping mall, presented a unique challenge in designing an office that met the needs of the client while activating the layout of the existing space. The Galleria‘s large windows and open skylights allow the light of the desert sun and painted sunsets to flood into the office. Corgan used this natural light to bring the outdoors in, and embraced the unique layout to create a truly one-of-a-kind office. The design team worked with Indeed to create a tailored workplace that reflected the local landscape, drawing inspiration from teh unculivated desert environment. The suble use of warm tones, texture, simple geometric forms, and wall graphics create a refined space that embodies simplicity and sophistication. As a nod to the arid climate, materials such as core-10 steel, soft oak veneer, rich tones of acoustical felt wallcoverings, and an array of desert plants embrace the surrounding geography.
Beyond incorporating the local desert environment, Corgan aimed to use the space to realize a workspace that could keep up with the young talent pouring in. Indeed’s culture thrives on creativity and communication. Corgan captured the buzz of an Indeed office through designing spaces that encourage interaction and breaking down the walls of the standard office building. The design includes an open office design with a variety of collaboration spaces punctuated with popular staff amenities includinga large anchoring breakroom,a barista and juice bar, a game room, and a fitness center with a yoga studio for ongoing wellness programming. Office floors were rearranged, and fitted with a wide variety of workplaces, ranging from open and activity-based to concentration rooms. The new arrangement make soptimal use of existing, clear, and rational basic structure of the building. The fresh, light, and airy atmopshere has long sight-lines, and stimulates visual and user interaction between spaces. Attention was also paid to the functionality and ambiance of the shared facilities such as the relaxation zones and a range of different meeting rooms.
Indeed’s office embraces connectivity, both in it’s employees, and the local environment. The employee-centric environment balances the work and personal needs of its users, creating a warm and lively space that excites and delights. Employees can work, collaborate, and flourish in a work environment made for them, all while enjoying the beauty of the desert that can be seen from both inside and out of the office.
