As for glass, what matters is the duplicity that it’s not for concealing but for concealing rather than transparency. Concealing is a basic method making a room. It needs a resistant wall built round and closed. Nevertheless uncomfortable bound needs the gap. The inside not connected to outside takes no role as the inside enough. A glass is the device to conceal but keep opened. Its function is bringing a light and a view and showing the inside out while protecting the rain and storm. For instance, a glass panel set in a frame can be found. It covers the picture and acts as protecting but can’t be recognized. Transparency should be in obscurity as a clear coating is.
It’s like a showcase or a show window. They are made from the glass but not for display itself.
If it’s intended to reveal, it has only to be keep the nature. Whether to reveal and conceal is optional by mixing transparency, translucency and obscurity together. Choice is not a part of architecture but people living in this place and their daily life. If an architectural expression reflect the daily life and not designed and settled, a scenery of street becomes lively and vigorous.
