K villa project is formed with the idea of a tropical villa with modern style, in which the space and materials are used simple, suitable and closely to the climate conditions of Vietnam center region.

Constructed on the area of 37x19m, the villa is for a 3 generation family. The front is face to the West so it was quite unfavorable. Therefore, a careful calculation solutions to overcome the effect of heat and heat emission is the problem that the architect needs to solve.

The first floor is the main living space of the family, including the open living room, kitchen and dining room. The front and back gardens are linked through the living room and the kitchen to create ventilation, wind flow and spacious views. Koi aquarium is designed to run throughout the facade to create accent point and refresh the adjacent spaces.

The second floor is a resting space for the family members. The bedroom block is designed on either side of the villa which closes to the large garden. The stairs, corridors, common space and atrium are located at the center core of building. It is a transitional spaces and connect closely all the family members with each other. The 2nd floor is protruded to shield the 1st floor space. The facade is covered by basalt stone, Low-E glass partitions which are good solutions for insulation.

The space on the 3rd floor has a very wide and generous view, the architect designed some large gardens with eaves to create closeness and feel like living on the ground floor. The roof garden not only offers good views but also has the function of preventing heat from downstairs and retaining some part of the water when heavy rains and minimize the concrete effect

The basement is the entertainment space for the members. The green wall and courtyard is designed on the basement to create freshness and limit its inherent moisture. The spaces are opened and closed flexible, intertwined and arranged in a careful calculated strategy. The creation of patios, green spaces surrounding with functional rooms have combined corridors and voids in the center of the house. In addition, this design creates a clear view and suitable for tropical life. Here, you can experience the natural sounds, floral scents and cool breeze breathe.
