KenshinMuginoko nursery is a small-scale nursery, accepting 19 babies, 0-2 years old. It also consists of a temporary nursery, and a regional child-rearing support center.

 The coexistence of “centripetal force”, and “openness” in the same place expresses circulatory sustainability of a small region. The “centripetal force” is designed for babies who just started breathing in this world, to face themselves. The void in the center of the building creates this feeling. In the middle of this void, there is a small tree. Every day Babies, parents, staff will see this tree is growing just the same as the babies do. A spiral staircase is set around the tree, so people can enjoy and observe the details of nature and its growth from the bottom to the top with 360 degrees. It also brings happiness and the touch of the season to the neighbors.

The “openness” is designed to show the happiness of having/ birthing/ raising a baby to local residents who could be the next supporter of the region. The number of newborn babies is decreasing rapidly in Japan. However, it is a very natural feeling that whenever people see the smiling baby, they will be happy and smiling automatically, then start thinking about their life. In order to show and share this happiness, the building has a big glass wall, functions as a shop window to sell the happiness and dream of the future.

This nursery will be a place to share happiness with the next generation and actually, it will help to make the next generation.
