Located in the outskirts of southern Bs As, the house stiks deep in local traditions; specially in the "puesto de estancia" and the porteña "casa chorizo" typologyes. The prominent gallery appears on the one hand as an exaltation of the flat pampean landscape and on the other hand as a catalizer of the daily activities along the movement of the sun. The interior plan is organized in a lineal and open way. Its a sucesion of spaces (as in a "casa chorizo") and also a fluid space (Mies and after). The materials are simple and look for a máximum fusión whith the surrounding landscape (concrete-stone, wood, metal)
The client asked us to design a weekend house for her mother and herself. The idea was to share the house amongest them but also keep máximum independence. Our decisión was to situate both bedrooms in opposite corners. There is a lineal disposition in which the extremes are the prívate spaces and the middle is the public, common and shared space. This public space also was ment to be an important one, prepared to recieve guests and to organise several events in contact with the outside space. This was one of the reasons that the public space is continuos, without divissions and really connected to the gallery and the outside life style. The part of the house reserved for service works as a filter between public and prívate spaces. The whole house is orientated toward the north, which also has the best and bigger visuals of the place. The south side, on the contrary, was closed enough to keep neighbours away. Anyway, tall Windows fill the inside within direct and diaphanous light.
