LE PELOTON CAFE

Cut Architectures as Architects

CYCLING CULTURE
A rallying point for cyclists from all over the world - from enlightened tourists to Sunday enthusiasts - Le Peloton Café has become a benchmark in the world of cycling. It's a place that brings together a real community around coffee and cycling. Whether you're looking for an oat milk matcha, an espresso, a road bike rental, a bike tour of the city or just a quick break, you'll arrive as a customer and leave as a friend!

Better together
It's this sense of rallying around a shared passion that guided our thinking when designing this small space. The counter, in its central position, becomes the hub of the space and the flow. Customers and baristas meet and exchange ideas around the bar, just as they do around their shared passion.

A permanent workshop
Always on the move, the workshop spirit is reflected in the use of birch pegboard panels throughout the long side wall. All the elements needed for café life are easily hung and unhung: the menu, the schedule of bike rides or the water bottles and jerseys bearing the Peloton logo. These versatile items reflect the bustling life of the place. The floor, a vestige of the old place, has been preserved as it was, adding an extra touch of soul.

On bicycles
It was an obvious choice to bring visual nods to the world of cycling to this place dedicated to it. It's no surprise to find the aesthetics of welded, powder-coated bike frames on the front of the counter and on the backs of the benches, or the hooks on the ceiling at the back of the store, where regulars and staff hang their bikes
