Clients approached Slope Architecture with a request to modernize a home they purchased in the desirable Boulder Country Club neighborhood.  Their adult children were no longer living at home, so they wanted a space that functioned for their new lifestyle, and purchased a 1970s home in a neighborhood that fit their needs.  A closed-off floor plan with small windows was completely remodeled to create light-filled spaces that flow together, allowing for day-to-day living as a couple or larger gatherings with family and friends.  Working primarily within the existing footprint and under the existing roof to keep the budget efficient, only two small areas of new square footage were included, but were architecturally placed in a way that transformed the look of the entire home.  Extending windows to the ceiling in key locations ensures that the existing eight-foot high ceilings aren't limiting the space, but instead feel cozy and bright.

The home faces a country club golf course and enjoys expansive Front Range mountain views, and large sliding doors lead to covered and uncovered outdoor living and entertaining areas to appreciate and enjoy the Colorado climate.  Durable and timeless interior materials bring contrast and warmth, with custom touches such as steel and wood slat screen walls, a concealed powder room door, exposed steel framing details, and a custom wood herringbone entry door.  Custom cabinetry brings high-functionality and beauty to each space.
