Light House

Light House

Ser Arquitetos as Architects

Located in a country house condominium near Londrina, in Paraná, Casa Luz has 270 square meters distributed over two levels. The upper floor is aligned with street level, while the lower one is 3.20 meters below, taking advantage of the sloping terrain. This configuration influenced the zoning of the house and contributed to the volumetric solution of the project.

On the upper floor, a circulation covered by a masonry pergola organizes the three sectors of the house: intimate, social, and service. The intimate sector consists of three suites, each with private gardens in the bathrooms. These spaces not only provide light and ventilation to the bathrooms but also play an important role in the composition of the facade.

In the social area, an integrated space with kitchen, dining room, and TV room opens onto a balcony facing east, providing a spectacular view of the sunrise. Adjacent to the kitchen is the service area, which also contributes to the facade's volumetrics. This area has a closed volume facing south but with a zenithal opening, ensuring adequate natural lighting and ventilation.

Plastically, the house presents itself as a cantilevered prism supported on the highest part of the terrain. This prism, carefully positioned, receives various strategic subtractions aimed at bringing natural light into its interior. These subtractions are essentially cuts and openings designed in the facades and roof, allowing light to penetrate the environments in a controlled and efficient manner. In addition to providing abundant natural lighting, these interventions create an interesting visual dynamic and make the house's volumetrics lighter and more sophisticated, integrating the project into the surrounding landscape in a harmonious way.
