Facing the Atlantic Ocean, the formerly known as Restaurant La Mer has always been regarded as one of the gastronomic institutions in Casablanca. This project is a mutation this once mythical place into a high end Asian cuisine place rebranded LILY'S cuisine asiatique.

The reconversion of the restaurant was carried out as a scenography. The entrance is an emerald moongate , then you cross a winding path leading to the reception desk over a wooden floor where the architecture mixes landscape and water ponds .

Lily's is spread over three plateaus like paddy fields down to the sea, each elevation and roof connecting with water, vegetation and sky in a wooded, warm and mineral space. A radical redevelopment of this space was conceived in such a way as to cross the vegetation with the views towards the sky and the ocean.

Lily's, thanks to its transparency, opens onto the garden of beautiful dragon trees (heritage of the place) and its stone water basins of Bali. The dining rooms, with their large bays, open onto the ocean and the sky. The whole is unfolded on three levels to welcome the clientele in a cool area to sit facing the sea in a cozy and wooded atmosphere.

The restaurant consists of three large indoor rooms: the umbrella room, the bamboo room and the butterfly room. The room of the parasols appears behind a chimney in oak and local stone of Taza. In front of the raw bar covered with a Forest Green marble giving the impression of the earth seen from the sky, the room of the bamboos opens on the sea and also on the sky. Three skydomes are located above fragments of planters planted with bamboos which benefit from the zenithal lighting. The butterfly room, on the level closest to that of the sea, shares this plateau with an outdoor terrace that also opens onto the sky thanks to a transparent and motorized canopy. Designing a trendy restaurant and avoid literality in the asian atmosphere was our golden thread.

The delicate vitreous china of the Inspira basins, the modernity of the Spun urinals and the charismatic geometrical shapes of the Loft faucets are the perfect fit for a restaurant that is a melting pot of cultures and tastes. Not surprisingly, the project by Sophia Sebti and Yachar Bouhaya Architectes had to combine the Asian fusion of the dishes with a modern restaurant facing the ocean that, as in all Casablanca, breathes the Arab and French culture.  To achieve it, the Roca products were integrated in a bathroom space in which each piece, due to its shape and composition, is at the service of the senses.

Why they trusted Roca

In honor of the importance of water and hygiene spaces in the Arab culture, the bathroom of this cosmopolitan restaurant was conceived as a space for beauty and wellbeing. With this in mind, not only did Roca provide sophisticated designs and materials, but also efficient, resistant and functional solutions.
