A new open plan allows downtown views from a soaking tub and walk-in shower at the back of the loft. Minimalist geometry draws focus to the natural material palate: walnut grain cabinets, stucco walls, concrete countertops with integral sinks, exposed structural concrete columns and ceiling. A few favorite details include a custom recessed stepping stool to get into the tub, built-in vanity lights, integrated supply and return air vents at walnut cabinetry, plateless outlet + switches at the sink, and metal picture rail crown trim.
Nicole Blair is a registered architect in Texas. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Textiles and Apparel from Cornell University and a Masters of Architecture from Rice University. Before starting her own firm, she gained work experience in NYC in the award-winning offices of Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Peter Eisenman, Architects. The firm was named an Emerging Practice by Texas Architect in 2019 and Nicole was named one of the 18 greatest living architects in the world by Elle Decor Magazine in their January/February 2019 issue.
