LÖSEV Children Village

D'Architects as Architects

LÖSEV (The Foundation for Children with Leukemia), needed a facility in Bursa for children to have summer schools. The program of workshops, classes, exhibition areas, cafeteria and accommodation units are designed under a big playground structure. This structure creates a continuous landscape and route around the courtyard which touches the ground on the east side and rises above the masses on the west side. The volumes of the architectural program underneath are used to create a three-dimensional experience on this roof landscape. The roof landscape both maximizes the open-air activities and give a childlike scale to the whole complex.
