Describing the space as “an iconic building in the middle of the city”, Ramsay emphasised its scale: “It is humongous. 27,000 square feet. That’s like owning a restaurant in the middle of Wembley Stadium.”

Lucky Cat is more than just a restaurant with a view, it’s the product of how the tower was imagined from day one. Designed by PLP Architecture as a “Vertical Village”, 22 Bishopsgate integrates work, dining, wellness and culture as core components rather than add-ons. Nearly 13% of the building is dedicated to amenity space, above the London Grade A office average, from restaurants and bars to terraces and London’s highest free public viewing gallery, with the upper floors opened to the public.

Lucky Cat, sitting at the summit on level 60, brings PLP’s vision to life. The restaurant pairs Asian-inspired dining and late-night cocktails with panoramic views across the capital, while an open kitchen adds theatre to the skyline setting.

More broadly, 22 Bishopsgate also reflects a fundamental shift in office design. Integrating destination hospitality into commercial towers creates vibrant ecosystems that support employee wellbeing, strengthen community engagement and deliver experience-led workplaces rather than purely functional space. By placing restaurants at the summit, and making the skyline part of the offer, developers can create thriving hubs that attract talent, foster collaboration and add landmark status to the building.
