Luna, a newly realized 108 sq.m. apartment in the center of Kyiv, was designed by SENCE ARCHITECTS. Our vision was to go beyond visual aesthetics and create an atmosphere that immerses the senses through touch.
"Our client wanted a house in which she could feel a connection with natural elements through touch," says Oksana Petrovska, lead interior designer. "We accomplished this task by using different textures - from the smoothness of wood to the roughness of decorative plaster."
Harmony of textures
To emphasize the rawness and tactile sensations, we chose a clay-colored decorative plaster. Hand-sculpted bas-reliefs with smooth lines decorate the living room and bedroom, serving as a visual art object and tactile decor at the same time. The natural wood of the furniture adds another kind of natural texture, with smooth curls under the fingertips contrasting nicely with the rougher walls. These accents strengthen the connection with natural aesthetics.
A palette inspired by nature
We chose a natural color palette reminiscent of clay and sand. Warm wooden elements fill the space with coziness and character. Furniture and decorative details from well-known Ukrainian manufacturers bring bright color accents, adding depth to the atmosphere.
Thoughtful contrasts
We used accent colors to avoid monotony and give each zone vitality. Terracotta and graphite play a key role, subtly highlighting each zone.
The result is a harmonious interaction of shades that fills Luna with dynamics.
