Maison Bombardier

This private residence peacefully blends into a context where nature is predominant. The harmonious and subtle balance between the built and the natural highlights the existing vegetation and topography. The volumetric simplicity of the building contrasts with the organic nature of the site, while the materiality evokes qualities of the natural materials found in the surrounding landscape. Concrete and wood, rhythmically divided by wide windowed bays, create a symbiosis between matter and space.

The orthogonal composition, divided on two levels, is organized with the services concentrated at the center and the living spaces lining the periphery. The first level hosts the living spaces that are generously fenestrated, overlooking the forest and lake. The second level consists of the bedrooms and has a porous quality, allowing for openings in its composition. The interconnecting rooms are in dialogue with the landscape, creating a strong relationship between the interior and the exterior.
