The design of the Malabo Grand Hotel is not simply based on the local colonial Architecture. It actually presents itself as a modern building and a future reference in Equatorial Guinea.

This building, destined for executive tourism, does not only provide standard facilities such as those found in this type of hotels, but also services which will entitle it as Equatorial Guinea’s prime social and business centre.

As mentioned above, vis-à-vis the design concept behind this hotel was inspired on a fusion of colonial and modern styles. Being divided into different blocks, the complex has a central exotic courtyard. The ground-floor of some blocks consists in stone galleries which act as load-bearing structures. Also, there is an interesting contrasting image between these blocks: some are torn by vertical wood balconies, and others hold long horizontal span balconies with wooden shutters.

It is definitely a unique architecture intervention that peeks out from the exterior tropical garden.
