Mare Nostrum

Mare Nostrum is a residential building with 8 floors and 8,800m² of construction area on the corner of José Tamayo and Mariscal Foch streets. The meaning of its name in classical Latin, is “Our Sea”. The ancient Romans baptized with this name what is now the Mediterranean Sea. Inspired in this context, the movement that the oars of the fleets of the Roman empire is reinterpret in the façade of the building. Reinforcing this concept, we decided to implement soft waves on the facade generating at the same time an experience of movement for the user.

The movement of the façade generates large balconies that allow the interior space to extend to the exterior.  Also having strategic passive sustainability principals like natural light and natural ventilation. The terrace we has a community green space providing a social space for users that include a gym, a pergola and gardens.
