Mistral's new concept store has its history translated into a project signed by Daniel Fromer & Arquitetos
The new concept store of wine importer Mistral, in Brasilia, Brazil had the main objective of offering customers an experience that went beyond buying, so that their visit would become an immersion in the world of wine. For this reason, the architectural project, designed by Daniel Fromer & Arquitetos, was developed based on a careful study of the journey of the importer and its consumers, so that this story would be reflected in the store's architecture.
From the façade, which "shows and hides" at the same time, gradually revealing what's inside the store, as well as the flavors of the wines that are presented there.
Throughout the project, the materiality was carefully chosen to maximize the customer's immersive experience: the wood refers to the aging barrels where the wines are stored before being bottled; the color of the walls, made with a textured paint, recalls the soil; and the stone countertops pay homage to the architecture of Brasilia.
On the walls of the interior areas, shelves have been arranged like those in a library, where the more than 1,000 wine labels are organized and positioned horizontally, making them easier to read and ensuring that the products remain in the correct position for preservation.
All the bottles on sale can be read, discovered and - of course - enjoyed in the tasting room, which is set up at the back of the store in a cozy atmosphere.
The lighting project was also designed so that the intensities, temperatures and position of each element could highlight the shelves and, consequently, the wine labels, in such a way that the products are the protagonists in the intimate space created inside and outside the store. The result was a space that not only paid a tribute to Mistral's history, but also created a pleasant environment for the end consumer to experience.
