Nestled on the edge of a forest, far from the pace of the city, this home was designed to establish a close connection with its natural surroundings. One of the project's key objectives was to celebrate the dramatic cathedral ceiling in the living area while maximizing natural light through expansive glazing, creating a seamless dialogue between the interior and the landscape.

The clients were committed to preserving the honesty of the building's structural materials. A polished concrete floor became the foundation of the design, complemented by a carefully curated palette of contrasting textures and finishes, including metal cabinetry, glass blocks, and richly figured burl wood veneer. These materials introduce warmth, depth, and character while maintaining the home's understated aesthetic.

The project gave me the creative freedom to explore bold combinations of colours, textures, and materials. Thanks to the clients' trust, I was able to create an interior where the rawness of concrete is balanced by refined details and tactile surfaces. The result is a timeless, contemporary home that embraces its natural setting while expressing a distinctive and sophisticated material identity.
