The project is part of the new structure of the downtown of the city that includes the covering of the railway that crosses the city from east to west. The plot will face this new boulevard, the town hall in main street, and the main square. We consider necessary to maintain this three relevant axes in the town, despite the resulting geometry, and assuming it as the challenge to achieve.

That’s why we propose a building with a strong sculptural character, a folding volume which connects all the wished axes with soft transitions along a ramp that generates the facade. The volume exceeds the glazed ground floor below, forming a big access porch. To attain the sculptural character wished, the volume should have a continuous skin, despite the different orientations. We solve the façade with a double skin façade with glass in the inside and micro perforated steel panels in the outside. The perforations density varies according to the different insulations, providing the shadow factor required in each case.
