MyBarre has opened their new premium Barre fitness studio in Shanghai. To launch their first physical space hcreates created an exclusive design language for MyBarre, that reflected their unique and elegant workout style . As the first of many planned studio openings, hcreates wanted to design a client focused studio that would create an inspiring community.
A tone-on-tone cream and beige palette, with soft curves and natural wood textures are used to form a modern, minimal, warm, and sophisticated space. Organic shapes within the branding are integrated into the interior to create a connected experience within the studio.
The 200m2 studio space contains a classroom, filming studio, bathrooms, and utility space, centered off the reception. Unlike a typical check-in reception area, the space is designed to be a hang-out and social space, encouraging interaction and comfort. Customized tiered seating forms a unique central feature, maximizing the interaction between people and space. Recessed cubbies, tidy away shoes and other items, reducing visual clutter, and hidden ambient lighting strips creating a warm, clean lined environment.
The studio’s classroom is designed specifically around the user and function. Integrated smart lighting systems allow for the trainer to easily change the classes environment during the session. Purpose-built equipment cabinets allow for functional space and ease of use for the client. Each material selected was carefully chosen to suit the environment for the users - creamy engineered wood flooring, customized cream barres, soft curving ceilings details and mirrors – creating a premium fitness and lifestyle space.
