Nautic Club

Querkopf Architekten as Architects

The dance floor, as main element, was anchored in a dark shell with sparkling, colored lights. The nautical theme accompanies the design in a constant but subtle way without being excessive.

The dark shell consists of black steel plates complemented by recessed portholes, which have been framed with rivets reminiscing the outer shell of an old steamship.

The interior separates itself in flowing forms from the strictly gridded shell forming the centre of the dance floor, above which a “night sky” ceiling made of hundreds of nautical stars transforms the club into a sea of lights.

Reflective rods that surround the cage at night capture the lights reflecting in nuances the brightness in every corner of the surface.

Positioned right in the middle, the main bar forms the spine of the adjoining area. Brass, black steel, dark wood as well as smooth upholstery constitute the material palette of this project.
