The Nave Multiusos of the University of Aveiro opened in May 2024, closing the edge of the campus above the athletics track. It was designed by GabCampi, the University's own campus architecture office, under the coordination of architect Joaquim Oliveira.

The complex reads as three pieces. A monolithic volume in fair-faced concrete, the formwork left legible, holds the hall itself. Attached to the east, a block of perforated red brick picks up the material that gives the Aveiro campus its identity. Between them, a glazed gallery follows the curve of the track beneath a cantilevered concrete canopy — the gesture that gives the building its character, and which the glass returns as reflection.

These photographs were made in April 2024, before the building opened to the public, which is why the interiors are still unoccupied: concrete, raking light and the drawing of the openings, with nothing to interrupt them.

The commission came from Dufepi, responsible for the building's window and façade systems.
