Ninefifty’s Showroom

Concept

Margherita Rui sings two interiors in the heart of Caltagirone: the Ninefifty Showroom and Nine Bistrot. These spaces embody a thoughtful and structured design approach that reflects the brand's essence.
Margherita Rui oversaw the interiors of the company's new opificio, designing both the office spaces and the Ninefifty Showroom. This venue was conceived not only to display products but also to welcome architects and professionals, offering an immersive experience to explore the brand's collections and production processes.

Project

Conceived as an extension of the custom retail format system developed for the brand, the showroom stands out for its formal clarity and precision. All display systems, designed by Margherita Rui, are intended to showcase the surfaces effectively, encouraging interaction and dialogue while maximising the products' potential.

The Ninefifty showroom is spread over two levels: a large ground-floor room with a street-facing window display and a second-level space with an adjoining terrace. Along the walls of the ground floor, exhibition units and material libraries are designed to present products in various formats. In front of the window, the designer placed a multi-level podium clad in the Tessere collection of handmade terracotta, accompanied by a selection of tables and benches crafted from lava stone. A large wall clad in the Alfabeto line of glazed lava stone leads visitors to the office spaces — spanning approximately 60 sqm — and to the grand staircase with its curved lines, connecting to the upper floor.

The first-floor space is designed as a lounge area for clients and guests. The centrepiece of the large room is a volume entirely clad in the Righe lava stone collection, housing a bar with a matching counter. This area opens onto an outdoor terrace furnished with sofas, armchairs, and coffee tables crafted by a local blacksmith based on Margherita Rui’s designs. In these spaces, the collections are applied with an architectural approach, cladding partitions and volumes that enhance and organize the exhibition path. Even the garden of the headquarters showcases an additional application of the product, this time in an installation designed by the architect for EDIT 2021. Here, the Alfabeto collection transforms into architecture, taking the form of a staircase that pays homage to the iconic Scala di Santa Maria del Monte in Caltagirone.
