Apartment Nômade is located in Brasília and has 113m². Its realization was the result of an extensive and labyrinth creative process. The project started in 2019 ending in 2021. Its execution took place in 2022.
The client, a psychologist, artist and dancer requested a renovation to include a dancing in her apartment, which is actually the junction of the last two apartments in the building. The result is in a great apartment, with a symmetrical floor plan and a very peculiar design.
During the survey, we realized that many of the existing furniture had wheels and that on each visit they occupied different places in the house. The bed was moved to the living room and the office now occupied the old bedroom. The fridge was in the service area and the stove was closer to the window, where the view is beautiful.
Hence the name Nômade: the creation of a space of movement, multicreative, opened to changes and adaptations, without definitive conclusion and in constant transformation.
In design, we defined twoentryways. One to the living room and the other, just across the hallway, straight to the dancing space. At home, the former service entrance was turned into a social access with a comfortable and functional hall with toilette. The living room was integratedwith kitchen and balcony/garden, becoming a spacious and airy space.In the connecting hallway, two versatile rooms with sliding doors works alternatively as guest or work room.
The dancing room access is through a small foyer with a bathroom.It is a free space measuring 2.70x4.60m, wooden floor, mirror wall and ballet bar. The former balcony became an indoor garden in the dancing room.
The completely concrete structure was brought to be seen and the floor received a noble brazilian wood, Ipê. At the entry hall, the floor was covered by a reproduction of a hydraulic tilethat once covered the floors on the family farm, rescuing affective values to the apartment.
