Now or Never is a retail concept with a global focus on objects and accessories for modern life and the modern home.
Situated within the MSA Annex shipping-container enclave of Tucson's Mercado District, the design of this interior was inspired by the client's fashion and retail expertise, as well as by their attention to global and local design currents.
The industrial exterior of the shipping container that houses NON is balanced by a sense of informal interior domesticity.A custom wood display system highlights and compliments the contents of the shop while also creating a subliminal composition that alludes to the NON graphic identity.
Visible through the large windows of the container, the display system engages passersby, turning the retail interior inside out.
Constrained by a modest budget for signage, lighting, flooring, mirrors, display systems and cash wrap, the design strategy was to develop an armature of custom shelving components from a single material –4’x8’ plywood.
Cut from only twelve sheets with less than 13% waste, this character defining design solution cost less than store-boughtshelving.
Experienced inside and out, the entire composition becomes a welcoming backdrop, where casual vibes mix with curated tastes.
