Final project for NTT DATA Italia's new headquarters in Cosenza.

The area identified to host the new headquarters of the Japanese company in southern Italy is located at the foot of the San Francesco di Paola Bridge, more commonly known as the Calatrava Bridge, in the Gergeri district of the Calabrian city.

The project involves the construction of a single building with a total SL of over 5,000 square metres. The project intervention will be an evolved expression of a modern, efficient, and sustainable building, capable of adapting to the urban context through the integration of contemporary architecture with the local identity in order to generate positivity and urban regeneration both socially and physically.

Among the elements characterising the project are a direct entrance on the public street to define an urban presence, a connection with the topography of the bridge to be part of the morphological construction of the city, an extensive usable terrace (more than 3,000 square metres) as well as integration with other activities (food and beverage) and places (in the project the staircase) adjacent to the building in order to be able to use it for its employees and to integrate the functions with the city and give rise to places inhabited and frequented by the citizens and not exclusive enclaves.

The building's shape, position and the arrangement of its openings must be designed to maximise energy efficiency, a fundamental principle of the project. The building must comply with the most advanced certification systems available today, including LEED and the ITACA protocol (Calabria Region).
