Villa Voglina

Villa Voglina

Villa Voglina is located in the southern part of the municipality of Valenza, in the province of Alessandria, surrounded by over 25 hectares of natural landscape. Once a residence of historical and architectural significance, the villa has gradually lost its central role in the area. This redevelopment project aims to restore its original function, transforming it into a renewed landmark for both the local community and visitors.

The goal is to create a comprehensive experience that blends hospitality, art, wellness, events, and gastronomy in harmony with the surrounding environment. The design strategy is based on an organic approach that integrates landscape, architecture, and the identity of the place, dividing the site into three distinct but interconnected zones: Garden (North), Village (Center), and Landscape (South).

At the core of the project lies the Village of Villa Voglina, conceived as an integrated ecosystem of five thematic "worlds", each with its own character and function:

Meetings and Events: a dedicated area for conferences and large-scale gatherings, featuring a semi-underground structure shaped like an arena at its center.

Wellness and Relaxation: a courtyard focused on health and wellbeing, with a large infinity pool, a solarium, and a SPA housed within the existing structure.

Representation Center: the historic heart of the villa, where the church will be restored and connections between levels improved. High-quality original finishes will be preserved and complemented by new, tradition-inspired elements.
Gastronomic Experience: a light, colorful, glass pavilion immersed in a richly planted courtyard offers a sensorial dining experience, closely connected with the surrounding landscape.

Sports and Leisure: a green courtyard with discreetly integrated sports facilities such as padel and tennis courts, designed to blend into the natural setting like a forest clearing.
To enrich and activate the landscape, the project introduces “les folies”—artistic and landscape installations distributed throughout the northern park and southern hillside. These elements—ranging from sculptural pieces and water features to panoramic viewpoints—will invite exploration and interaction. One or two will be created each year, involving both local and international communities, fostering a participatory and evolving process.

Beyond their cultural and environmental value, les folies will serve as tools for promotion, community engagement, and the creation of immersive visitor experiences, turning the entire site into a living laboratory of art, nature, and hospitality.
