Tucked within the Topa Topa Mountains in the Ojai Valley, the iconic AAA Five-Diamond Ojai Valley Inn continues to redefine luxury with a curated art collection for the 251 guest rooms and 30 suites. Eaton Fine Art (EFA), a full-service art consultancy firm, collaborated with ownership and Lawren Howell, Creative Consultant for Design and Brand at Ojai Valley Inn, to curate a thoughtfully selected collection that reflects the Ojai Valley’s abundant natural beauty, fostering a serene and inviting atmosphere for guests.
Nestled amid lush landscapes, artisans, and adventurers, the Ojai Valley Inn combines small-town charm with boundless opportunities for discovery. The Inn welcomes guests with its Spanish-inspired architecture and cozy rooms and suites, blending comfort with elegance.
“Inspired by the magic of this California retreat, our collaboration with local artists led to a curated art collection that illustrates the eclectic spirit of the Ojai Valley community,” said Krista Birnbaum, Project Curator at Eaton Fine Art. “By blending diverse styles and media, we invite guests to feel nurtured by the environment of the Ojai Valley, capturing the light, serenity, and natural elements that define the area.”
In the guest rooms, the art collection draws inspiration from the surrounding natural elements, including orange grove trees and the Topatopa Mountains, embodying the unique essence of Ojai. A large abstract canvas by a local artist adorns the bedside walls, featuring a bright, abstract canvas mirroring Ojai’s colors and landscape, infusing the space with energy and warmth. Above the sofa, a beautiful salon-style arrangement of three locally curated artworks pays homage to Ojai Valley’s renowned citrus orchards. This arrangement captures the warmth and comfort of a living room, creating a welcoming, home-like ambiance that invites guests into an art-filled sanctuary. The neutral palette sets the stage for vibrant accents within the artwork, enriching the aesthetic and adding depth to the overall experience.
“The Ojai Valley has long been a haven for artistic expression and for decades has drawn talented artists that we wanted to highlight and honor in our program,” said Nancy Crown, Ownership Representative. “Our intention in curating this art program was to collaborate with and showcase as many of these talented and creative locals as possible. If we did not find them right in Ojai, we ventured just outside our borders where many artist communities thrive. It was exciting for Lawren and I to discover so much talent right in our backyard.”
