This innovation relocates all workspaces away from the facade, providing a tranquil environment. This socially sustainable design allows everyone to savor views, natural light, and the vibrancy of the surroundings. Moreover, it means that the inner workings of the office can be observed from the outside, integrating with the city's dynamic life.
The facade is designed with glass canopies in a rich, dark red hue that transforms throughout the day, ranging from deep shades to reflective surfaces. This dynamic facade ensures that the building's appearance is ever-changing, mimicking the nearby trees, neighboring structures, and the constant flow of cyclists and shoppers. The color and lighting are carefully matched to harmonize with the context, ensuring the building doesn't overpower its surroundings. This facade at the forecourt serves as a transition from the urban environment to the shops, offering a modern interpretation of classic canopies that enhance city life.
By positioning the corridor area facing the facade, everyone has the opportunity to step away from their "work zone" and take a mental break while enjoying the city outside. The corridor has evolved into a gallery, with colleagues on one side and the outside world on the other. Instead of having to search for dedicated break rooms, small free spaces are seamlessly integrated into the entire building's layout, easily accessible whenever you need a break from your desk. The continuous panoramic view is complemented by an 800-meter-long touchdown zone running alongside the windows. This integrated furniture piece offers a comfortable place to sit or enjoy a standing coffee break and is already widely utilized by the building's occupants. Each section of the lounge furniture aligns with the group or department divisions, creating dedicated areas for short breaks and impromptu meetings.
Exceptional lighting conditions are pivotal in any office environment. Thanks to the slanted window sections, the red canopies, and work zones set back from the facade, Østerport 2 eliminates the need for roller blinds.
