Ghislaine created a relaxing and airy vacation home for her longstanding New York-based clients. She kept the design fresh and playful, transforming a once dark and dated condominium into a bright and invigorating beach house.

This meant veering away from anything fussy and leaning into playful yet calculated color choices. With every floor to ceiling window facing the water, the colors of the lawn, ocean and sky is such a big presence indoors and became the basis for Ghislaine's color palette - largely blue tones and splashes of sunny yellows, creamsicle orange and pink.

The furnishings are bold, mixing South African influences (where Ghislaine grew up) and 60s Florida topicality. Modern art and mid-century and retro forms make for a truly special hybrid. Iconic pieces such as Arne Jacobsen Egg chairs were paired with new and unexpected picks, from custom-colored yellow poofs in the living room to the entryway’s hanging lamps woven using recycled soda bottle.

Ghislaine also incorporated a variety of circular forms throughout for a pleasing and relaxing feel. While it embodies the energy and spirit of a city, it is a haven for the family, where they regularly escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
