Romantic, seductive, at times eclectic.
This flat is a declaration of love for nature, pastel colours and fine materials. An artist’s vision that admires Milan and emulates it, in all its grace.
The young family living there were seeking a peaceful life, just a stone’s throw from the city centre, nestled in a leafy neighbourhood overlooking the city.
The building housing the flat is a period property that retains the charm of old Milan, a charm reflected in certain elements of the design, such as the terrazzo flooring in the corridor and the Lombard-style doors.
At the heart of the floor plan is the living room, laid out lengthwise, which benefits from a series of windows overlooking the tree-lined avenue, flooding the home with an abundance of natural light.
The space, fluid and well-proportioned, comprises two distinct areas: the conversation corner and the dining room. The atmosphere oscillates between Parisian chic and Milanese eclecticism, clearly evident in certain key elements.
At the centre of the living area stands a ribbed glass wall, which can be opened almost entirely when required, creating a direct link between the dining room and the kitchen. A real surprise, in shades of green. The marble chosen – rare and striking – sets the tone for the entire home: pinks and burgundies dominate the scene, but it is the greens that define the project’s most iconic features.
The rest of the flat is divided into two areas: a private area and a guest area. At the centre, like a satellite of the home, is the hostess’s artist’s studio; she is an illustrator and artist.
