Minimalist, contemporary, and at times eclectic.
This flat is a real gem. As you step through the front door, you’re struck by an atmosphere of great charm, both in terms of style and colour.
Shades of blue and red blend together, each respecting the other’s space whilst coming together. The wood, which ties the different areas together, covers the flooring and adds warmth to some of the bespoke furnishings. But it is metal that is the undisputed star of this project, cladding the kitchen, defining the lines of lamps and iconic pieces from 20th-century Italy, and enhancing the entire flat. With its industrial touch, it particularly defines the living room, which is organised into functional zones: a reading corner, a TV corner, a conversation area and a dining corner.
Within each of these zones, the most famous creations of the modern designers who have shaped the history of design coexist: from the Eameses to Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, from Michael Anastassiades to Cassina’s mastery of upholstered furniture.
Whilst the living area is fluid yet eclectic, the sleeping area appears more structured. Divided into functional and non-functional spaces, this part of the home is bathed in shades of blue and neutral tones that evoke a greater sense of relaxation and tranquillity.
This project, which keeps pace with the times, remains true to its stylistic essence and the quintessentially Milanese taste that sets it apart.
