“Curved Pool” by Vietnamese team: Ly Thanh Hoang Phuc, Do Thi Vanh Khuyen, Nguyen Duc Canh and Phan Quang Duy from Cung Studio.

One curve plane rotates the public space parallel to the river into the facade of the building that houses all the functions. It successfully generates an independent structure, connected to the existing elements but with an attractiveness of its own in the urban life. Conceptually, it focuses in one single stage, one enormous swimming pool that brings together all different experiences and caters to the needs of all the users.

From the author: “The site has an unique location in Douro River. Although the pool will be under 12m below the street […] this new pool must be placed in between 2 city-block grids and become the emphasized end point of the nature axis. Different by design, all activities with the pool happen in one single surface. People can see each other […] Together they learn to live and play with the river they swim in.”
