The new Zeven primary school building is a place of education that is as colorful and inviting as its school community. The new building blends harmoniously into the small-scale neighborhood and opens up to the street with a friendly welcome courtyard around a tree with a bench - a place to arrive and linger.

The H-shaped building structure relates to the surroundings and creates sheltered outdoor areas for play, sport and breaks. The brick façade and colorful accents on the windows and doors set regional design references and give the school a friendly appearance.

Inside, the school is a colorful forest of adventure. Green, yellow and orange guide the way through the learning worlds, while large pictograms and symbols help with orientation. The light-flooded foyer can be used multifunctionally as an auditorium and event room. Light domes and luminaires create a pleasant atmosphere in which to relax and learn.

Flexibility is part of the concept: the foyer is an auditorium, stage and meeting point all in one. Differentiated areas in the learning clusters and the interconnection of several rooms enable parallel use and expansion of the space.

External screens and sun protection elements provide cooling in summer and green roofs ensure more vegetation and less sealed surfaces.
