FERIZI Architects designed a bright and open space for ALBAS Publishing House in Pristina/Kosovo.

ALBAS Publishing House, based in Tirana, Pristina and Tetovo, was founded in 2000 and has been engaged in books publications since its inception.

The idea behind the design and implementation of the new workspace for ALBAS book publishing house derived from the need of having people oriented working environment, combining coziness of a home and library scent. As such, the journey was a spiritual one starting from the site and context selection, space organization, selection of building materials, construction methodology to artwork.

The entire design embodies appealing aesthetics, sophisticated furniture, state of art lighting enabling visual communication between spaces leading to a sense of mystery and curiosity. The ALBAS publishing house in Pristina is a completely open workspace, furnished in warm natural colors and with exquisite and timeless materials.

The space is ergonomically divided into: a large meeting room with a natural wood work table and a sitting area, a kitchen located in the central part of the office accessible from two sides of the room, a large open space office area for strengthening team spirit and connection among staff and long corridor garnished with many art pieces. The office also has modern mini-lounges for informal work and meetings. The furniture of these lounges is also characterized by comfort and natural tones.

A key challenge was to understand that on one hand the office must reflect the identity of the company in the physical space and, on the other hand, meet the functional and operational needs of a company toward improvement of the performance and quality of the life of the employees.

This creation by FERIZI Architects is a place where people not only enjoy working, but also fall in love. The motivational quotes in different areas of the space are the cherry on the cake - changing the definition of an office space in the Balkans.
In conclusion, FERIZI Architects have created an office space that reflects Alba's values and commitment toward its biggest assets, the people. The space is simple and minimalist, but full of refined details. And, the final result is a welcoming and inspiring workspace that any employee would dream of.
