Pupilo Lice Clinic, is the first medical clinic in Greece which specializes in treating head lice. The provision of lice care is aimed at children aged 4-13 years. Therefore, the objective of the design procedure was to establish an atmosphere that would reflect the clarity of an environment in which medical procedure is conducted. Additionally, we tried to ensure that our clinic would be a child friendly and low anxiety center.
The decision not to isolate the reception area from the treatment room was deliberate and on the premise that children’s anxiety increases when they are not able to watch a procedure which they have to undergo prior to its application on them. Consequently, the diving wall which separates the two areas is a light, transparent, metal frame panel which allows children to witness the painless care while being in progress.
The aforementioned panel is the only immobile coloured furniture against the white background of the clinic. The palette of the colours for this structure was determined by the corporate identity of our newly established company. A selection of these colours was used for the mobile furniture.
In the building there were some old mechanical facilities which could not be removed. Alternatively, some perforated metal cnc covers have been used to conceal these elements allowing at the same time the circulation of air through them.
