RAILWAY STATION FS MARINA DI CERVETERI, ROMA

AMAART architects as Project - Leader

The project design attempts its best to be outside of the natural scheme of project design, the use of industrial material that is normally considered “poor” in the project is dignified as to represent the total new façade systems.

The project aims to build a constant dialog with the urban context, the user and create a unique integrity; From form to space, to material to use. Without gravity, without time, in silence where man can stand and observe the city, architecture in within its making. Even the new structure is exposed to “evoke more than what is there to be seen”.

Marina di Cerveteri railway station restyling is a unique project because of the landscape position, near the seaside and the old Cerveteri town (Etruscan site area).

The project focused on giving a new definition on the existing building function with the use of a second lifting façade design in combination with the new building system. The two parts give of the restyling project are linked with duality of material surfaces. The dark aluminum lamella seriality is in contrast with the white and organic aluminum (water form) façade material of the existing building structure.
