Originally built as a barracks, this almost 100-year-old building now houses a secondary school, among other things. As part of this project, the windows on the south-facing façade that overlooks the sea were also replaced.

In order to reconstruct the windows while staying true to their original design, the architects chose the Janisol Arte 2.0 steel profile system, which, according to Hannes Griesemann, best met their expectations in terms of "the delicate profiling and the option for individual colour schemes.” Büthe & de Wall GmbH, Schortens, manufactured a total of 85 casements from the thermally separated steel window systems, together with glass dividing glazing bars. The casement dimension were predominantly 700 x 770 millimetres; the only areas in which they were slightly larger were in the areas surrounding the trapdoors to the clock, where they were 700 x 1130 millimetres.
