Architectural Concept
The building is entirely clad in an expanded metal mesh that envelops both the solid lower section—a reinforced concrete structure—and the upper roof section, enclosing the roof's steel beams within its depth.
This upper layer also includes a green roof, visible through the cladding’s perforations; its presence serves to screen the rooftop air-handling units from view at street level.
Nestled between these two layers— two "horizons"—and set back from their outer edges, lies the first floor. It is clad in a three-dimensional mesh featuring an alternating pattern of triangular glass panels and externally insulated aluminium panels.
Some panels are subdivided to incorporate opening sections , allowing for the ventilation of specific areas (such as the football team's offices, association offices, and the municipal sports instructors' area).
In the central section, this mesh spills over the ground floor, breaking up the massiveness and orthogonal nature of the building's volumes. The design is based on the contrast between the rigor and purity of the two horizontal layers and the organic quality of the treatment applied to the space between them.
