It is the full refurbishment of a former porter home into a new living and working concept. At the beginning of the project, nobody was completely sure about how this place was going to be used. It could have been a kind short stance apartment or an office, even somehow a place that can hold both uses. Anyway it was very clear how the space should be worked in such an unconventional place.

There are two points to start with. Firstly, the private use patio that runs all along the space. Then, also plumbing and other sanitation supplies, which were not covered and go through the opposite side. That is how the plans appeared: A line of servant spaces and supplies on the opaque wall that allows a free open living space all along the patio. All windows become doors in order to get more flexibility and light.

There is a single open space that can be divided into different rooms just with the help of light sliding walls.

As the patio should provide a touch of singularity to this place, and also bring the light to interiors. It is white light outdoor and white glasses are placed in front of the doors to reflect what indoors is going on. It is also possible to offer an excess of light by the artificial lamps set all along the walls. That gives the impression of being in a bright place even when we are in a closed almost underground room. The aim of the project is the flexibility of a very specific space to a generic inhabitant.
