The project consists of the renovation of a house between party walls located in the center of Badalona.

The first decision arose with the demolition of the interior divisions and the low-quality additions that had been annexed over time. When the existing ceiling is removed, a large volume is revealed, hidden under the old roof of wooden beams and ceramic tiles. The original structure is preserved as an envelope, unifying its interior appearance by painting everything in white. This maintains the different textures and construction solutions as a testimony of its construction, and enhances the luminosity inside. 

Once the interior has been emptied, it is necessary to create a distribution that adapts to the needs of the new inhabitants, increasing the useful space. For this purpose, we proposed an extension towards the rear patio and the construction of a new mezzanine. The materials of this new structures and closures are left exposed, contrasting chromatically with the envelope. The most private spaces are placed in a large wooden box, with interior doors and shutters that open towards the empty communal space.

Two pieces of furniture are designed. Leaning on the wall, the first one runs the entire length of the house, serving as storage for the different spaces. The other is a large table on wheels that serves as a complement to the kitchen and becomes the centre of the living area.
