The client, as the frontman of a Genoese rock band, needs a room completely devote to his music, entirely soundproofed, so a half of the living became a new rec room. The tiny white-painted open space revolves around a central corridor in Sienna colour, which ideally separates the living at the entrance from the kitchen.
A cold colour palette made of blue, black and teal of the kitchen contrasts with the Sienna corridor, which however returns in the joints between the 10x10 tiles laid up to the ceiling. Kitchen cabinets are regularly produced, but details give personality, as the designed handles and the total black worktop. Seats around the table are vintage “Chiavarina” chairs rescued from the dump and restored (Chiavarina is a very light chair produced in Liguria at the beginning of 19th century), the side table in the living room covered with goat fur is designed by OPLÀN studio.
Pictures in the dining room were painted by Corrado Zeni and musical paintings are by Antonio Battaglia. The relaxing light blue in the bedroom has a darker tone on the headboard, while the black joints between light grey tiles in the bathroom create a strong contrast, as well as in the kitchen covering.
