Located in a residential neighborhood of the city of Guadalajara, this single-family house is conceived from a clear premise: establishing a constant relationship between the domestic interior and the immediate landscape. The architecture prioritizes the entry of natural light, cross ventilation, and the presence of vegetation as a structuring element of the living space.

The project is organized across two clearly differentiated levels. The ground floor accommodates the public program, while the upper floor is dedicated to private spaces. This programmatic division allows the social areas to open more generously toward the exterior, fostering visual and spatial continuity with the garden.

The entrance occurs through a double-height vestibule that introduces the first expansive spatial experience. From this point, the main living room also conceived as a double-height space—is visually framed, establishing a direct relationship with the interior garden. This garden almost sculpturally wrapping around the staircase becomes the green heart of the project, integrating landscape design as a fundamental part of the home’s daily experience. The vegetation simultaneously functions as a thermal and visual filter, while its arrangement softens natural light and reinforces the connection between nature and architecture.

The materiality of the project responds to a logic of constructive honesty and permanence. Exposed concrete walls, which run longitudinally along the ground floor, define the physical boundaries of the space while carefully framing views toward the exterior and the curated landscape. This strategy creates a compositional rhythm that reinforces the sense of spatial continuity.

In contrast, the exposed metal structure present in the steel bridges connecting the upper-floor bedrooms emphasizes the tectonic character of the ensemble. These elements visually liberate the lower level, bringing lightness and transparency to the social spaces.

The spatial sequence promotes a fluid transition between the different environments. The dining room, kitchen, and outdoor terraces are articulated in a continuous manner while maintaining the functional definition of each area. The double-height space not only amplifies the scale of the social area but also introduces a vertical reading of the project, generating diagonal visual relationships between levels that enrich the experience of inhabiting the house.

More than simply responding to a domestic program, the house proposes a way of living in close dialogue with the natural environment. Through an architecture that breathes, is naturally illuminated, and finds in landscape design an organizing principle of space, the project establishes a balanced relationship between construction, light, and vegetation.
