Libertad 1416 was created in the search to live downtown and create a harmony between the past and the present, seeking to engage in a conversation with the guest in a direct way. Leaving behind the chaos of the city and creating an oasis inside the complex.
Respecting all the original elements of the house, the central patio is emphasized, which is the reflection of the city center, where everything unfolds and harmony is generated, respecting the original source, from where life is born, and creates this atmosphere of silence and respect for the environment, all these plants are born that surround the building and generate peace and tranquility through the sound of water, and the wind of the vegetation, which enters through this patio to each room of the complex. Trying to find a little calm in people's daily routines.
This project seeks to create life in one of the most prominent neighborhoods of Guadalajara, it is oriented towards an intervention that enhances the integration of contemporary elements, essential for its adaptation to new uses: a hotel, a restaurant and a commercial premises. This transformation is based on a concept that seeks to harmonize these new components with the existing building, respecting and preserving its original essence.
The architectural strategy is based on the revelation and recovery of original materials and construction elements that were in the building, with the intention of highlighting its history and authenticity.
To achieve a union between old and new, contemporary design elements have been incorporated that not only complement, but also highlight the historic character of the house. The use of local materials allows for a visual and functional dialogue to be established in its architecture. These materials, carefully selected and applied, create an intentional and elegant contrast that underlines the coexistence of the past and the present.
The intervention seeks not only the preservation of the original structure, but also the adaptation of interior spaces to current needs. This has been achieved by creating flexible and multifunctional spaces, which allow for diverse uses without compromising the structural and aesthetic integrity of the building.
