Samambaia Collective Housing

Dal Pian Arquitetos as Architects

The building consists of 3 blocks of equal size - 9.50m x 9.50m with 2 housing units each, in a total of 6 units per floor.

The blocks are united by a compact vertical circulation body, using the minimal

The limit of the built areapermitted by urban regulation is reached with 60 apartments distributed in 10 floors. An upper floor, for common use, houses the leisure areas of the condominium.

Continuous balconies accessed by the living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms advance beyond the 9.50m x 9.50m modulation and extend the spaces of private use. Since the apartment openings turn to the four faces of the land, the balconies offer privacy to the housing units. Mobile panels reinforce the sun protection without dispensing with good lighting and internal ventilation.

The free ground floor, under pilotis, connects gently with the routes of the city. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic never cross, ensuring the integrity of traffic flows and the safety of users.

A single basement of garages, added to the parking under the pilotis on the ground floor, allows, as required by legislation, a parking space for each apartment.
