The initial approach of the project is based on densifying with a proposal for apartments on a low scale and taking care of the urban environment, giving new use to an uninhabited property located on the corner of the main avenue of one of the central neighborhoods of the city of León, Mexico.
With an area of 354m2 of land, the project formally proposes the reinterpretation [basement-shaft-capital] where the basement gives body to the parking lot, access hall, site, warehouse and vertical connection block, this being the one with the largest horizontal surface and mainly materialized with exposed concrete.
The project houses 8 apartments that are born from the [basement] in 2 asymmetrical blocks in relation to the whole, with 4 levels each and creating a central patio-terrace where different outdoor uses are promoted and are articulated by means of a bridge on the level 3, the north block houses 4 double-height apartments and the south block houses 4 more apartments, one apartment per level.
The project proposes 3 types of apartments, where one of the formal firsts was to generate views in different directions, promoting cross ventilation and resulting in the use of 2 main sizes of glazing on the facades; the larger ones generate small terraces and recessed balconies, having greater control of solar incidence towards the interior.
The apartments total 1077 m2 of construction. The main materials used are: apparent concrete and extruded brick + sand-colored extruded brick that make up the double wall of the main structure giving the final appearance.
