Surrounded by traditional 80’s buildings, Smart Cube has a striking impact on its context. The idea came from an old family house that needed to be refurbished. The owner expressed the will to create something unique, rather than a simple renovation.

From a technical point of view, this volume is a sort of cell set inside the structure shell, in order to avoid thermal bridges.

The main structure, made of tubular columns and varnished trusses, can be clearly seen from outside. It has a practical function but also characterizes the architecture from an aesthetic point of view. The south-facing volume is made of triple glass facades, utilizing high performance aluminium profiles. The glazed surfaces are opened to the countryside, while the wall facing the neighbourhood is opaque and covered with a metallic finish conferring more privacy.

On the outside, sun-shading devices made of galvanized steel have been installed.
