Spelonca, the studio and research space of artist Edoardo Piermattei, takes shape in the Borgo Dora district of Turin, inside what was once a semi-underground religious office. The project involved a reconfiguration of the original space, aiming to create a flexible layout capable of supporting exhibition, artistic, and conceptual activities.
The choice of materials and finishes was defined in close collaboration with the artist, with the aim of integrating pictorial and material interventions across floors, walls, and ceilings. The space is conceived as a Gesamtkunstwerk, designed to foster interaction between artistic practice and everyday use.
